When we remember we are all mad,
the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.

Mark Twain

Good morning peeps!

I hope you've been having a good week so far.

Mine has been weird for some reason.
I can't seem to get my mojo running.

I'm usually optimistic
but this week feels like i've got a black cloud
over my head.

Do you ever feel this way?

I can almost hear all of you yelling YES in unison!! :-)

It's full moon tonight
so the tide will change.

Hopefully.

As artists, it's always difficult to go through lulls in life,
because creation is stifled
and we feel like we've lost our voice.

At least I do.

So everything i attempted this week
seemed futile and wasted.

Nothing worked.

I bought these new watercolor pencils
and thought i'd give them a try.

This morning, i worked on this.
Still some detail to be added.

Soul Sisters.

Learning to fly together.
:-)

I think what i'll do to ease this malaise,
is go for a nice long walk in the trails.

The weather here is beautiful today
and spring is definitely in the air.

Carpe Diem
xoxo

Come forth into the light of things,
let nature be your teacher.

  1. Nature is always a lifting balm for the soul. Seems like several people are feeling off recently. Full moon? I never thought of that. Hope you are feeling more grounded after your walk. I love your soul sisters. :)

  2. Yes I hate when that mood hits me, I call it my cloud of blue.

  3. I too have mojo issues. A picnic on the beach with some of my favourite people definitely helped, but I've been feeling out of balance for a few days. I put it down to readjusting to coming home but I suspect the moon might be involved now you mention it. Not that I'd wish it on anyone but it's comforting to know it's not just me.

  4. I totally know what you mean! Winters are always hard for me this way, the weather gives me the blues and my creativity just goes out to lunch. This is usually when I draw a bunch of boring studies to compensate. :P

I hope you get your mojo back soon! Though I can see with that last picture that it's coming back already. :)

  5. So with you today! Nature walks always help me but it's cool and wet here today and I'm just generally yuckie. Mayhaps things will get better after the moon has passed.

  8. If the walk doesn't work try a cup of tea, and if that doesn't work pull a silly face at a young child, or my personal favourite creep up on the dog and scare the pillicks out of him... never fails to cheer me up to see him jump out of his skin... and not as mean as it sounds as he is so dumb that he forgets you scared him in about a minute and then wants a play... hope you are feeling sunnier xx

  9. Oh, Pauline... you would love it here in Southern California.
    Spring has come early!! :]
I couldn't help it, spent no time in the studio, while the sun was out. Just had to soak up the sun :]
These are such beautiful doodles, fantastic!! ((hugs))
"Soul Sisters"... what a priceless piece of work ! The colors are so pretty, love it.

  12. Thank you all for taking the time to send a few words my way...
ps: Tracey, since i don't have a dog, I guess i'll just try to "scare the pillicks" outa my husband and see what happens. I may need a place to stay by tomorrow. :-)
