put a little love in your heart...

Yup. It's a big black square.

I used a piece of cardboard from a pizza box
and covered it with black acrylic paint.

Chose a few colours, and started with this...

added a few pencil marks...

covered a few things here and there with white...

flipped it around,
circles, bubbles, dots... ;-)

i was using an older brush when i made these little red marks.
i did them really quickly and once they were done,
i noticed some of them looked like little hearts.

That made me smile. :-)

i actually kinda like it.
i love the look of layers, one on top of the other.

And this, an inspiring little tip, from Viktor Frankl.

His book, Man's Search for Meaning
is still one of my favourites
even if it's sometimes hard to read.

I have such admiration for people like him,
who not only survive such ordeals,
but who are able to love again
rather than hate,
and spend the rest of their lives
inspiring others to do the same.

Have a happy mid-week everyone.
Thanks for being here...

  1. This a fabulous abstract art portal!! LOVE it!

  2. wow, only you could make a pizza box top look absolutely amazing! Hope you are doing well and I think of you often, sending good vibrations my friend:)

  3. Pauline, you are an amazing woman! Thank you for being you!

  4. Maybe I'm trying to get in the spirit of the season...I kind of see santa's face in the center of your pizza box!!!

  5. Another interesting painting, so rich in detail, and somehow it seems to tell a story. I always love the way you generously share the process.
I agree with the quotes from Frankel. My personal belief is that hatred only hurts oneself, and this belief has helped me keep a persprctive on life and be more accepting in my own life. A bit more difficult with those who hurt children or start needless wars.

  6. Great piece Pauline, you're having fun playing around and that's so good!

  7. Very creative art work and Victor Frankl was an amazing individual ~ great quote ~

  8. Love this, Pauline.

I've never done abstract art, but you make it look like something I should try.

  9. Hii Pauline! This pizza box transformation is interesting to see! The black patch getting changed into cool soothing colors and hearts, circles has a lesson in I think.
Sending happiness and warmth your way!

  10. Best use for a pizza box! Love your layers and circles (really been loving circles lately)!

  11. Playing catch up yet again (where have I heard that before?)

I love that pizza box painting, it feels like something technical or engineered, until you notice the hearts. So many layers, and hidden mystery.

  12. Hi, Pauline--I hope you're doing well. I'm playing catch-up, too, and really REALLY love this! Makes me want to order a pizza (or three). Great new pic of yourself, too...I need to update mine, too, but break out in hives any time a camera is pointed in my direction ;)
