the woman in the moon

Life shrinks or expands
in proportion to one's courage.
Anaïs Nin

I decided a while ago that i would blog less often
and paint more.

And guess what i discovered?

That blogging is what kept me painting more often.

Knowing that i would be posting something in the morning
inspired me to be creative at night.

I blog less now (about twice per week)
and instead of using the extra time to paint
(like i thought i would!)

i clean the house

or go for coffee

or read

and more often than not

i work.

That's just yucky.
;-)

So i'm back to posting more often,
every day or two.

Yay for me!

It just gives me the kick in the ass i need
to keep myself creating.

I did this one in my journal last night...
acrylics, markers and white pen.

I really have a thing for twirls, don't i?

colors are off and i don't usually fiddle much
with making adjustments,
but you get the idea.

The woman in the moon.
:-)

and this is my little blue room,
after the painting last night.

more stuff

and still more stuff. :-)

i took this pic this morning, in natural light.

By the way, i got a lovely invitation a little while back
to be a featured artist on Jennibellie's fabulous blog.
For those of you interested in reading the little interview
just click here.

Jenny is a talented and kind artist and spends much of her time
making beautiful things and spreading the love by
sharing her artwork and her tutorial videos for everyone.

I just love anyone who's willing to share so much of themselves
with the world.
Thank you Jenny!

Wishing you all a wonderful week
filled with sunshine and lollipops.
xoxo

I could not agree with you more, Pauline. :]
The "blogging" community, is where my peeps are. <3
The inspiration and encouragement from others, is collectively gathered from there.

Posting on my blog, makes me accountable, no matter what my health issues are that day. I know someone out there is "cyber" space is rooting me on! ((hugs))

  5. That's so funny that you found out the blogging actually motivated you to make things to show on your blog--LOL! I think it motivates me, too, like that. I'm just slower to create than you are. ;)

Loved your interview!! I love watching all Jenny's videos. She's artistic and the most creative recycler I've ever seen. :)

  8. I too find that blogging keeps me creating-if I don't blog as often I don't make as much. I love her- just love her! The lines on the dress are fabulous- the moon behind her is perfect! I am pinning this!

  9. I had to laugh when I read your assessment of the blogging/creating correlation. I am totally with you there. I do so much more because of my blogging. Not that a break and those other activities aren't just as worthy...it's just nice to see the connections. I LOVE The Women in the Moon. The patterns, shapes and colors are lovely to me.

  10. I just spent time I was supposed to be using getting dinner organised cruising and catching up on what you have been up to, so if they all come whining then I am directing complaints your way...

you have been busy and I had a laugh when you said you had realised that it was blogging that made you work... if you have a deadline then it is easier to put off some of the other things, or do with with a bit of speed at least... when I did my post grad work in creativity theory it was interesting to read all the theories and stuff that is written, but a lot of it places so many expectations on people to change and adopt all sorts of ideas and delve deep, but at the end of the day a deadline and a reason are all you need... I am glad you will be back more often....xx
